Kinnunen was also joined onstage by Anthony Bowens and Map Pesqueira, two young and brave LGBTQ figures who shared their stories with the audience. Anthony Bowens spoke of his position as one of the few openly gay professional wrestlers and how he has inspired other LGBTQ athletes “to continue playing the sport they love no matter what.”
Map Pesqueira, a college freshman who lost his ROTC scholarship because he is transgender, talked about how efforts from GLAAD and others have helped to fund his education.
